The car presses on, forward into the night. Trees passing by only illuminated by the glare of the high beams and the soft glow of the half filled moon. The 2004 Pontaic Grand Prix pushes farther, it seemed distant to society. No buildings or other cars, just trees, grass, and pavement. The distance from society was not far at all, but the driver seemed to be thinking of other things.
The driver looks at the dash, the display shows 11:19 pm. It was a Saturday night, a prime Saturday night to be precise. The driver had plans but those plans fell apart in the early evening. Now there was nothing to do but to drive. The driver seemed to have no place in mind, driving for the sake of driving. Driving without purpose but taking in the sensations. The stark cool night air was calming. Not comforting as being in the warmth glow of the sun but, strangely calming. The cold wind breeze passes through the car windows the driver never took notice of the cold. He could not feel how cold the wind blew or how long he was going to continue driving.
