If robots then no money!?

I most likely should be getting ready for class and driving down to Dearborn but I feel like I should write this out now. My friend got me into a really interesting discussion about the money system and that it is doomed to fail. His entire argument was based around if we implement robots we can then remove jobs from nearly everything and thus we don't have to have money to pay for the things made by robots. Then everything would just be free! Sounds great right? Well this is not possible because we have limited resources we can't hand out anything for free and in any unlimited amount. It just does not work. Anyway now I need to get ready for school.

Computer Security!

Today was very uneventful, after having a weird time early morning and not being able to sleep until 5 am. It is no wonder I slept in until almost 2 in the afternoon. I worked on some homework for a few. Then went to this ISSA meeting with my Dad. ISSA is like a computer security conference. The speaker today was talking about hacking. It was very interesting, I'm even thinking of changing majors now. My Dad and I are going to set up an older system on a DMZ on our home network. Then I could use metasploit which I just got working to perform any exploits on that computer in order to get access. Then the next step would be to see if it is possible to use that compromised system to hack computers who arn't on the DMZ. It'll be very interesting maybe I can get this set up this weekend. I'm very excited to try this.

They are after me!

So they finally got my engineering account done at the very last moment right before lab class even started. I couldn't even see the program he was writing on the screen oh well. Lecture was interesting and I actually compiled my first program today. This was actually kind of amusing though I couldn't actually test my program but I didn't have any syntax errors, I also don't think it will have any logical errors. I think when I go to class on Thursday I think I might go in early to the engineering computer lab in order to compile my source code. Also the Engineering Fraternity Theta Tau was trying to get me to join them. I am going to stay independent no matter what.

Brilliant!

So building on my great idea of road trip. Going to go with a different perspective here. Instead of driving all the way to California which is in BFE! I think it might just be easier to go to Florida. My friend informed me of his family renting a house in Orlando for the weekend and it wasn't that expensive. Started looking into this and I think I struck gold! I found a house for rent in the first week of March for spring break. 1200 a week. That isn't bad at all, the best thing is... it has sleeping arrangements for up to 12 people. Now 1200 divided by 12 = 100$ per person. This is not that expensive and is actually quite affordable for a week in Orlando. Now just a matter of finding 11 other people who are down to go.

Side note.. I'm really pissed off at the Engineering Computer labs. I put in my request for an Engineering Account last week and it is still not processed and I have lab in around 10 mins. What the FUCK am I going to do for lab now?

ROAD TRIPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got the Kevin's New Employees talk at work today. It was strange sitting through that a second time. Then I finally got the learn the software which was kind of enlightening.

Looking much farther into the future. Thinking about the idea of a road trip for spring break. Final destination of said road trip, most likely California. I think it would be quite an interesting trip. Specially with how I'm meeting girls who don't live in Michigan through tagged. It would be cool to eventually stop by on said road trip and meet some of these girls. Well going to have to plan into this a bit more, but it is just an idea!

The Maddness That Cannot be Comprehended

Today has been strange. Not much for an eventful Sunday. I was looking on wikipedia today to try and find a book I had read for my composition class in high school. I finally found the book, it is called Abarat and written by Clive Barker. Looking back on the book it was a very strange setting. The world of Abarat was made of 25 islands, each one representing the hour of the day and a 25th hour island that was very mysterious. The 25th hour island is more a time and space kind of thing. Very hard for me to explain. All this made me search around wikipedia even more and eventually made my way to read some of the Cthulhu Mythos by H.P. Lovecraft. I started reading The Call of Cthulhu, it was a very interesting read. The fearful element in it is the unknown. Through most of the story we are only told about Cthulhu in very strange ways, either through obscure dreams or through artistry done during these strange dream cycles that happen between March 22nd and April 2nd. In the end of the reading I came to a conclusion is that Cthulhu is more or less a manifestation of some subconscious human emotion or thoughts of some sort. Something so bizarre and alien that when actually viewed upon, the onlooker becomes insane. It was a very interesting read gave me a different perspective to things.

If only XP wasn't such a p.o.s.

This will be a shorter post than usual. It is finally the weekend. I was able to sleep in until almost 1:30 in the afternoon. Felt good to get that much sleep. Today I figured it would be a smart idea to fix my Windows XP partition so I could get Warhammer Online working since it doesn't run properly on wine. Luckily doing a repair on windows with the xp disc didn't over write my GRUB bootloader so life was good there. Got things working very easily. Had the system working for a good at least 3-4 hours and then I made my system unstable. I tried to upgrade to Service Pack 2 so I could run the latest version of Itunes. Got half way done with the upgrade and things crashed! It just stopped making any progress. Now I can't even get it to try to reinstall SP2 it is obnoxious. Now I'm trying a system restore to before I attempted to upgrade to SP2. It didn't seem like it was doing anything for the last 20 minutes so I figured that I'll leave it on over night and it should be working in the morning. Key word there is should. I really wish that some games actually ran on linux instead of having to use wine or at least have the game working under wine. Windows has always been such a hassle to me, always breaking when I don't need it to crash. Well enough about computer problems. Time to go to bed. Homework to work on tomorrow.

Yes I do know that technically it is Jan 18th but this is about Jan 17th!
